[Mod Post: willingtoliefor Concordance/Timeline]

Hola. I, your resident diagnostician, creator, and lesser part-time co-mod, have been thinking for a while now that it might be a really good idea -- as I've seen around in other parts of these here lands -- to have a willingtoliefor concordance: basically, one single post that keeps track of all the major events and happenings to date in the game, with links to the appropriate threads and dates. Cool, huh?

This way, if a question ever comes up about What Happened When, all the information will be right here at your fingertips and/or keys, depending on how literal a sort of person you are. Anyway, this post will remain in the game comm's Memories, and it will be [hopefully] updated every time something major takes place.

So there you have it. Enjoy!

Updated!

Wednesday evening, May 24th: after midnight

Wilson comes to visit House: in which they have Chinese food, talk about everything but the problem that everyone but House seems to have noticed, and have what is probably their most vitriolic and defensive argument ever.

Thread located here.

Excerpt:
He jabbed his chopsticks toward House, pointing at him accusingly. "And maybe you could do without me here and maybe you don't give a shit about me, but believe it or not I'm actually personally concerned about you. I'm not doing Cuddy or Cameron or anyone else any favors by ferreting out information about your feelings, and I'm not running betting pools. I just care. Sorry."

Thursday, May 25th: workday, Cuddy's office.

House has been brooding over Cuddy's decision to have a baby; he confronts her after work to voice -- vociferously -- his opinion.

Thread located here.

Excerpt:
She didn't know whether to laugh or start shouting at him, watching, first in morbid curiosity, and then outright amazement, her hands frozen in the air as if still clutching the folders that had been in them. "I'm guessing you didn't sleep well during naptime today, but if you start rolling around on the floor in a temper tantrum, I'm calling the psych ward."

Friday, May 26th: morning in the Clinic

Dr. Darrin Lowe, a new staff member with a personal secret, arrives for his first day at Princeton-Plainsboro Teaching Hospital. Unfortunately, his bad luck is that the first person he happens to run into is one Dr. Gregory House.

Thread located here.

Excerpt:
"Yeah, that's right," he replied cheerfully, shaking the kid's hand and making a mental note to hit Cuddy's computer later this afternoon for all the information he might be able to dig up. "My wife, er, Lisa. She's in gynecology." Snort. "But I'm the head honcho here at Princeton-Plainsboro, the Big Boss, the Stinky Cheese. It just so happens that I was here overseeing one of our most brilliant doctors' work this morning... but I just got paged for an urgent consult, so if you don't mind helping out? That'd be awesome."

Friday, May 26th: after work hours, in Coma Guy's room

Cameron bet Wilson $50 that he couldn't teach her to swear. Will he succeed? Well, he certainly tries... and in the process sparks off other things that might be best left unsaid.

Thread located here.

Excerpt:
"'What the story is'?" Cameron repeated, laughing a bit. "It's not dramatic, that's certain." She folded her arms over her stomach. "It's just a skill, isn't it? You have it or you don't. I tell House to 'go to hell' or say 'damnit!' when I'm frustrated and he laughs. I called him a jackass once," she said, lowering her voice as if she were imparting a deep, dark secret like Mommy is an alcoholic or Actually, I'm a lesbian, "after he made another one of his absolutely brilliant remarks about my breasts. It didn't work---he just laughed. So you get the money if you can teach me to put together a string of words that'll make him blush or at least shut up for the moment. But I won't say" --- she paused --- "you know. That word."

Friday, May 26th, very late night: House's apartment

Still mired in his personal demons, House comes home to try and find himself a distraction. Unfortunately, he realizes too late that a distraction isn't what he needed. And then, Cameron arrives at a very inopportune time to confront him about his behavior. Adult themes within, including: sex, prostitute reference/description, and IV drug use.

Thread located here.

Excerpt:
"Goddamnit, House," Cameron managed after a moment, still standing in the bedroom after he'd breezed by. Gathering her irritation for courage, she walked into the main room, ready for the fight. She stood a few feet across from him, one hand on her hip as she began to speak: "Fine. You don't want to be treated like a child? Then stop acting like one!" The phrase nearly burst forth, and Cameron leaned forward a bit as she spat it out.

She took a breath, then continued, voice remaining intense. "You refuse to take on new cases. You refuse to talk to me. You refuse to talk to Wilson, apparently. You're angry all the time, no matter what I do, no matter what anyone does, and all of our conversations end with you sexually harassing me. You're acting like a three year old. Something's wrong," she continued, softening now, her voice acquiring an almost pleading note. "I thought it was just your leg, but your leg doesn't leave you like this. This is different. And don't lie to me and tell me it's not. I'm not stupid. You need to --- tell me what's wrong, or get help, or deal with whatever it is, or just learn to swallow your feelings like everyone else, because I can't work with you. You won't even let us do work."

More quietly now: "Please, House, tell me what's wrong. You can laugh at me for this, but I just want to help. Something's seriously wrong and you can't keep going like this."

Monday, May 29th: Memorial Day

Unable to avoid the staff barbeque, House finds himself unwillingly drawn back inside to confront Cuddy about their unfinished argument. While everyone else is drinking and mingling, some truths are revealed, much booze is consumed in the Dean's office, and some unwise actions take place. Also, in which Cameron visits Cuddy's office to inform the Dean that Dr. House is in love with her: not knowing that said doctor is already currently present and listening. Note: some adult content for the beginnings of drunken!office!sex.

Thread located here.

Excerpt:
For a long moment he simply stood there and stared at her, feeling quite a bit like someone had sucker-punched him just below the solar plexus.

And not even really understanding why.

"If that's what you think," coldly, closing down. Let her sit here and get drunk in her own damn dark office. Not his problem. Not at all. He moved away from the desk, teeth firmly planted in his lower lip, and paused just off to the right of the still-closed door. "Glad to be of service. Again."

Monday, May 29th: Memorial Day evening

Caught between the trust of his best friend and worry about the same, and struggling with new developments in his own life, Wilson turns to an old friend for advice via long-distance telephone.

Thread located here.

Excerpt:
Sighing, Wilson pinched the bridge of his nose again. "You're not going to worry any less after I tell you. He's... Well, I found morphine in his apartment." This was greeted with silence, so he kept going. "I have no idea how often he uses it. He was going to when I was there, but I wouldn't let him and I took it with me when I left." More silence. "...Stacy?"

"I'm here. You have to do something. He's going to kill himself. You have to tell Cuddy," she said, her voice tight like she was on the edge of tears or panic or both.

Tuesday, May 30th: late afternoon and evening

Wilson and Cameron, having found themselves in a situation that neither of them expected, go out for a meal, talk shop -- and family -- and eventually find themselves returning to Wilson's apartment. Much connection is made, and we have a PG-13 for a not-so-subtle fade to black.

Thread located here.

Excerpt:
Wilson held the building door open for Cameron, ushering her inside with a little bow and a playful smirk. They took the elevator to the third floor and when they stepped out Wilson brought a hand to rest at the small of Cameron's back to guide her to the left. He unlocked the door and as he pushed it open he murmured, "Abandon all hope, ye who enter here." Great insight on how he viewed this place...

Wednesday, May 31st: Evening/night.

The day after Dr. Cuddy suddenly puts in a memo with her secretary that she's "taking a vacation" -- abruptly and with no warning or explanation -- Wilson visits House a second time, to try and make peace... and find out some answers. In which Wilson doesn't recant, many snarky comments are made, Wilson learns the truth at last and House finally breaks down. Note: Date slightly modified for continuity: does not clash with anything else.

Thread located here.

Excerpt:
But House was House, and didn't have to say a single word as Wilson entered. He simply switched the tune he was currently playing to "Here Comes the Bride" and then smoothly [enough] into "Pomp and Circumstance", changing to a one-handed run near the end and snorting into his beer.

"You sure know how to make a girl feel celebrated," Wilson muttered, rolling his eyes with a little smile. "I like Pachelbel's canon better, though."

..."Well, if you were paying me by the hour to stick around, I'd probably smile a lot more, too," Wilson snorted. He returned House's sideways glance and quirked an eyebrow. "Still no kissing on the mouth, though."

Sam Parker, high-powered PPTH lawyer and former associate of Stacy Warner, dropping a line to her colleague to try and arrange a meeting.

Thread located here.

Excerpt:
As it turns out, we may be able to get together sooner than expected. Wilson was supposed to get in touch with me about something and he hasn't yet. It's so much easier to intimidate him in person than over the phone, so that's the plan. When I know what I'm doing and when I'm doing it, you'll be the first to know.

Tuesday, June 13th: Cuddy's office/House's apartment: early morning

Cuddy returns from her spur-of-the-moment "vacation" with a new resolve... and not expecting that House would be waiting in her office when she got there. Much arguing ensues, and there is much tension between our two doctors, a death-defying motorcycle ride back to House's apartment, some adult interactions of the carnal sort, and some shattering revelations. Note: This thread is really not child-friendly. NC-17. Also, long -- 126 comments. Done!

Thread located here.

Excerpt:
"What do you mean, you can't?" His tone was mocking, although only lightly. "It's easy. Just like riding anything else, really." A suggestive leer. Tightening his lips for a moment, he waited for her to shrug into his jacket, tapping the end of his cane on the pavement far more impatiently than he had on her office floor. Something inside was capering, yes: Cuddy is about to get on my bike. If there's a moment for everything, then I suppose I can die happy right now.

House pulled his sportcoat back on, shrugging it close to his shoulders, and snagged his spare helmet from the back of the bike. Holding it out to her with one hand, he grinned: "Check this out." A one-handed twirl of the cane, and clack! he'd snapped it into the holder. "Cool, huh?"

Another furtive glance around. "Better hurry, if you don't want to stand here al--" Reconsidering that thought...

Wednesday, June 14th, early morning/afternoon: Diagnostics office

In which House spends a morning being bored in his office, finding new and unusual ways to amuse himself, experiments for a paper he's been pondering publishing in a cutting-edge medical journal -- experimenting on himself, of course -- and is interrupted in his thoughts by Dr. Chase. This thread, about halfway through, became something entirely and unexpectedly different than its original intention, as the best "roll-with-it" plots tend to do, and contains some controversial topics: discipline, and mentions of molestation. Also: House and Chase flee PPTH on House's cycle, and head for Harvey's Bar & Grill for a fortifying eleven A.M. beer.

Thread located here.

Excerpt:
But House was House, through and through and to the end, and it was a huge surprise even to him that he didn't feel vindicated in any way at all that he'd read Chase so very and expertly well, that this might just be the crack in the door that it might take for Chase to trust him... and by trusting him, his judgement, and by virtue of trusting him when he admired him[House] so obviously, learn to trust himself.

And who would ever have thought that Greg House might risk his job, in order that one of his underlings might re-gain the faith to keep
his?

Foreman, taking a break from the madness in the cafeteria for lunch. Introduction of our new Foreman-mun! Updated! In which Cameron, searching for anyone else who might be of help in the... unusual House and Chase situation, finds Foreman in the cafeteria and brings him up to speed on what she knows.

Thread located here.

Excerpt:
The newest copy of the European Journal of Neurology was propped up in front of him, resting on the napkin dispenser. Down here, there usually wasn't any interruptions, making it easy for him to blend in. Of course, Foreman would blend in until his pager went off, and then he would be outed, put on display as he rushed through the cafeteria to the exit, running to see what emergency awaited him.

Wednesday, June 14th: early afternoon

House and Chase, trying to escape the Wrath of Administration for their unusual method of resolving issues in the office, head to Harvey's Bar & Grill for a really early Happy Hour, some serious discussion, and a talk about why they did what they did and how likely they might be to lose their jobs over the whole thing.

Thread located here.

Excerpt:
It was oddly reassuring to see House uneasy at that moment. Well, he appears to be at least slightly uneasy. Though I’m sure one can never tell with him unless there is a life on the line. It showed that House actually gave a crap about what was to come instead of pulling a stone-faced, who cares sort of act. One in which Chase wouldn’t appreciate at all if it was to be pulled at any point, but most especially now. As the pitcher of beer arrived at their booth, there was a inner sigh of relief for Chase. Though it was really, REALLY early in the day, he couldn’t help but need a drink of some sorts after everything that had just gone down. Chase eyed the chilled glass House placed before him and waited for House to pour himself a glass full of beer before taking the pitcher and filling his own glass. Nodding slightly to House, he takes one, two, three large gulps of beer before lowering the glass back down to the table and wiping his mouth off with his hand.

Did he just say he actually listened to all I said back in the office? Whoa. Maybe he cares after all about someone other than himself.

Paying closer attention to the conversation now, he watches House with interest, as if awaiting to get more insight on the man behind the cane.
Wait, did he just quote "Forrest Gump"? Smirking slightly at this. "Remarkably enough, I do. I believe you cross the lines you do at work because no other Doctor has the balls to do so. You save lives regardless, so I guess it doesn’t really matter what methods you use as long as the death rate stays down," taking another gulp of beer.

Wednesday, June 14th: same time[afternoon]

In which, House retains a lawyer [almost] by accident. House, half-past buzzed and most likely headed for drunk, listens to Chase telling him that he, Chase, almost expects to lose his job once Cuddy finds out -- via Cameron -- what he and House had been doing in the office. He realizes that there is someone else who might be able to help them out of this situation: who, in fact, has done it before... and excuses himself to get up and make a[probably ill-advised] cell phone call, from the foyer.

[Note: the bar talk thread and the thread in which House makes the call are running simultaneously; it's a fair bet that Stacy will show up to join them at the bar. If so, events will be updated here to reflect that, and the corresponding link will point to the comment in which she arrives. Cool, huh?]

Thread located here.

Excerpt:
"You're getting pissy," he informed her smartly when she was back on the line, trying to keep the slur out of his voice. "I'm sorry I interrupted, it must be riveting over there."

A pause. "Well. Maybe I should let Chase tell you after all... ever see Boarding School Adventures 35?"

Cradling the phone between her ear and her shoulder, Stacy dropped her pen and leaned forward, pressing the heels of her hands into her eyes. She was silent for a few moments before answering. "At this moment, we're not on the clock. Should we be? It's your decision. Lawyers may get to decide which cases they take, but the clients do usually ask first."
